Default Holiday Farming Spots for good Returns

I am new to solo farming and wanted to know where people feel the best farming is for Wintersday. Before I solo'd I would make Grawl runs in NM from the Ruins to the gate in the eastern frontier but 55 / SS does not seem to be very fast there.

Again sorry for noob post and I have looked at fuzzy tacos post but I was tryng to figure out where I can get the most bang for the time.

Please no flamming...I have a wife for that.

well, if i remember well, there are no serious event drops from monsters on Wintersday except of Candy Cane Shards, which arent really worth farming for. anyway, for event-drops farming, raptors are probably the most efficient, so farming in Rata Sum with E/Me as i usually do or anything else, there are lots of builds for farming those

Just once I wish a thread with the word "farm" in the title gave useful information about a new farm rather than asked for information about old, well-documented and published farms...

I guess I should have clarified my comment somewhat. I ma a necro and from what I can gether raptor farming is difficult for a necro. I am looking for places with monsters that drop items that can be traded for wintersday items.

Sorry for the confusion and I like it when my wife slaps me so I will recommend that to her.

I haven't played necro, so I can't advise you on farming builds. However, the grawl outside Ruins of Surmia are the most prolific things I've tried as an elementalist. I average 70 or more necklaces per hour from them. If you want items that can be traded for Spiked Eggnog, then the gargoyles outside Nolani Academy are your best bet. I average 50+ skulls per hour farming those, plus some granite, scales, and the occasional Stormy Eye (also a Wintersday collectable) when the riders are hanging around near my path. The third best option is probably Sentient Roots outside Kamadan, which gives me 40-50 per hour. Those can also be traded for Spiked Eggnog, but it requires three of them rather than two, so it's very inferior to the gargoyle farm.

All of these farms are done in NM, and all you really need are a couple of fast-recycling skills that can instakill anything of the levels you will encounter (7-8 for gargoyles, 4 for grawl, 1 for plants outside Kama -- except for a couple of level 6 mixed in.)

A PBAoE really helps with the grawl, though, since you can aggro a bunch of them at once, nuke the warrior grawls, then use your single-target skills to take out the ulodytes. Since it's NM, you could probably farm this as a secondary ele and do as well as a primary ele.

if your level 20 you can farm the low level areas outside pikens and ascalon or kamadan for items to trade in or do the 55 in gates of kryta.the low level areas if you are level 20 you should have no trouble soloing as long as you have a self heal. probably should be able to do these low level farm around 11 with no problem

Just a thought... I haven't read through the whole thread yet. BUT, I am a N/ME and I find dealing with raptors quite easy. Spitefull Spirit with Arcane Echo will drop a whole mob of Raptors in seconds. being as they all seem to attack the same target.
